Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is well-known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of the memory of children as eyewitnesses and the use of child victims in court settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous grants, and was awarded numerous international and national prizes. She has advised numerous administrations and agencies across the world about policies and studies pertaining to child victims in the justice system. She acts as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of several professional organizations, such as the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman also belongs to the Psychonomics Society, the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Family and Child policy and practice.
